Hurricane Katrina approaches the shores of Lake Pontchartrain, and breeches levees in several parts of the city. The deluge from these levees destroys the entire city, and submerges the city in nearly twelve feet of water. Everything is ruined. The Superdome suffers roof damage, and is plunged in darkness with no electricity.

August 30, 2005

The murky waters stand, and the levees are still broken. Trapped Residents begin to surface on rooftops, bridges, and homes.

August 30- September 21, 2005

FEMA and Red Cross become majorly involved with the clean-up and rescue efforts in the city of New Orleans. Buses arrive to transport trapped residents across the country. The Superdome regains electricity and becomes a Red Cross Shelter. Residents are still not allowed to return to the city.

September 22, 2005

Hurricane Rita makes landfall and the levees are breached again.

In 2005, the city of New Orleans died. Ruins. Crumbling structures. Lone animals wandering, on the move to somewhere else. A big empty sky, and a cleared earth.
